What do you get when you cross a dope Detroit producer, a legendary gruff MC from the Boot Camp Clique and a Detroit native son who has worked with J-Dilla, Madlib and Oh No?...you get an underground Hip Hop super group and one of the best albums released this year, Random Axe is Black Milk, Sean Price and Guilty Simpson and the LP is full of raw, braggadocio rhymes and hard hitting drums, interesting samples and ground rumbling bass lines.
Random Axe were first unleashed to the public back in 2009 with the hype track "Monster Babies" and since then have given dedicated listeners "The Hex", "Random Call" and "Chewbecca" which features Roc Marciano in fine form and Rock (formerly of Heltah Skeltah with Sean Price aka Ruck) slays "Another One" on the LP, which clearly tells Hip Hop fans that a new Heltah Skeltah album with Black Milk production would be very welcome)...all of these tracks and 9 others are on the album....here are some videos for a taste, if you haven't yet experienced the Random Axe sound.
You can pre-order the album on I-Tunes here
